Washington D.C. Metrorail system is connected to DCA Airport by an elevated outdoor platform that provides service to Blue and Yellow Lines.

Monday to Thursday: 05:00 am to 11:30 pm.
Friday: 05:00 am to 01:00 am.
Saturday: 07:00 am to 01:00 am.
Sunday: 08:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Trains frequency varies according to the time of the day:
AM rush (05:00 am to 09:30 am): Every 8 minutes
Midday (09:30 am to 03:00 pm): Every 12 minutes
PM rush (03:00 pm to 07:00 pm): Every 8 minutes
Evening (07:00 pm to 09:30 pm): Every 12 minutes
Late night (09:30 pm to closing): Every 20 minutes

how to get to metrorail station?

Terminal 1

Outside the terminal facilities, board any airport shuttle bus. 

Terminal 2

It is really easy to get to Metrorail station from Terminal 2 since it is linked by a couple of pedestrian bridges from its third level.


Peak fare (weekdays from 09:30 am to 3-7 pm): $2.25 (minimum), $6.00 (maximum)

Off-peak (all other times): $2.00 (minimum), $3.85 (maximum)
